This article details how to install WordPress on Farbyte shared web hosting using the Softaculous App Installer.
To install WordPress on your hosting account please perform the following:
- Login to cPanel with the login credentials that were sent in your Farbyte Welcome email
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Softaculous Apps Installer
- The Softaculous start page will appear, click the WordPress logo (usually the first one)
- Click Install now
- For Choose Protocol, select either https:// or http:// depending on whether you want to run the site using SSL encryption or not
- Under Choose Domain, select the domain associated with your Farbyte account that you wish to install WordPress on
- If you want to install to the root of your domain (e.g. domain.com), delete wp from In Directory, so it is blank. Otherwise if you want to install to a subdirectory in your domain, enter the directory here (e.g. for domain.com/blog enter blog)
- Set the other settings as desired
- Click the Install button at the bottom of the page
