Configuring Outlook 2003 For Farbyte Shared Hosting Print

At Farbyte we provide various UK email hosting services.

To set up our POP3 or IMAP email hosting within Outlook 2003, on the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3/IMAP) window, enter your information as follows:

1. In Microsoft Outlook 2003, from the Tools menu, select E-mail Accounts
2. On the E-mail Accounts wizard window, select Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next
3. For your server type, select POP3 or IMAP, and then click Next
4. Your Name: Your first and last name
5. E-mail Address: The full email address created in cPanel
6. Password: Your email account password
7. Incoming mail server: obtained from the welcome email sent during signup
8. Outgoing mail server: obtained from the welcome email sent during signup. It should be the same as the incoming server
9. Make sure, that the option Require logon using Secure Password Authentication ( SPA ) is unchecked.
10. Click More Settings.
11. Switch to the Outgoing Server tab and tick off My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
12. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
13. Switch to the Advanced tab and enter the following settings:
    1. Incoming server: ( if you are using IMAP ): 993 port for SSL, 143 for TLS.
    2. Outgoing server (SMTP): see your Welcome email for SSL/TLS port.
